the Littleton House Project

Timber Frame Ski House

This new house project is currently under construction and was designed as a second home in ski country. The remote site and house is situated on top of a ridge with magnificent views of the White Mountains. The design was a response to the clients’ interest the arts and crafts movement and their love of wood. The house functions are centered around the Great Hall and the stone fireplace. The timber structure was made by expert, local timber framers and is fabricated from white oak and walnut. The exterior cedar shake and siding was locally sourced from a near-by sawmill. The house utilizes energy efficiency building techniques and systems with the use of SIP roof system, closed-cell insulation, solar panels and high efficiency HVAC units.
